Terms & Conditions 
The Essentials Group Ltd – Plumbing & Heating Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions
- “Company” refers to The Essentials Group Ltd.
- “Customer” refers to the person or organisation requesting services from The Essentials Group Ltd.
- “Services” refers to all plumbing, heating, installation, repair, maintenance, and related work carried out by The Essentials Group Ltd.
- “Contract” refers to the agreement between The Essentials Group Ltd and the Customer, incorporating these Terms & Conditions.

2. Quotations & Estimates
2.1. All Estimates issued by The Essentials Group Ltd are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
2.2. Quotations/estimates  are based on information provided by the Customer; inaccuracies may result in additional costs.
2.3. Any unforeseen issues, hidden defects, or additional parts required will be charged at the Company’s standard rates.
2.4. Estimates are not fixed and may vary depending on actual labour or materials used.

3. Pricing & Payment
3.1. All work is charged at The Essentials Group Ltd’s standard rates unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3.2. A call-out fee may apply for emergency or out-of-hours visits.
3.3. Materials are charged at cost plus a reasonable handling margin.
3.4. Invoices must be paid within 7 days of the invoice date unless alternative terms are agreed.
3.5. Interest of 10% per month may be applied to overdue payments.
3.6. The Essentials Group Ltd reserves the right to request full or partial payment upfront, especially for special-order materials.

4. Access & Customer Responsibilities
4.1. The Customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and work area.
4.2. The Company is not responsible for delays caused by restricted access, unsafe conditions, or unavailable utilities.
4.3. The Customer must inform the Company of any known hazards, asbestos, or site-specific risks before work begins.
4.4. Any goods delivered to the Customer shall be at the risk of the Customer from the time of delivery. It is suggested the Customer includes such goods on their household insurance.

5. Works & Materials
5.1. All materials supplied by The Essentials Group Ltd remain the property of the Company until paid for in full.
5.2. If specific materials are unavailable, the Company may supply alternatives of equal or better quality.
5.3. All services will be completed with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with industry standards.
5.4. Timescales and start dates are given in good faith, but are stated as a guide only. This is not a ‘time is of the essence’ contract. However, the Company will use it best endeavours to meet estimated dates.

6. Liability
6.1. The Essentials Group Ltd accepts no liability for pre-existing faults, poor installation by others, or failures resulting from aging systems.
6.2. The Company is not responsible for:
- damage caused by scale, corrosion, or natural system deterioration
- structural issues discovered while accessing pipework
- failures due to misuse, freezing, or lack of maintenance
6.3. The Company is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of income, heating downtime, or water damage caused by existing system defects.
6.4. Liability is limited to the value of the work carried out unless otherwise required by law.

7. Warranty & Guarantees
7.1. Labour carried out by The Essentials Group Ltd is guaranteed for 12 months unless stated otherwise.
7.2. Manufacturer warranties apply to equipment and materials supplied.
7.3. Warranty is void if third parties interfere with the system or if recommended maintenance is not followed.
7.4. Consumables, seals, blockages, and general wear-and-tear items are excluded from warranty.

8. Cancellations
8.1. Customers may cancel scheduled work with 24 hours’ notice.
8.2. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur charges for labour time or ordered materials.
8.3. The Essentials Group Ltd reserves the right to cancel or postpone work due to safety concerns, supply issues, or circumstances beyond its control.

9. Emergency Work
9.1. Emergency call-out charges apply at the Company’s published rates.
9.2. Emergency repairs may be temporary; permanent solutions will be quoted separately.
9.3. No guarantees are provided for temporary or emergency repairs.

10. Property Damage & Existing Conditions
10.1. The Essentials Group Ltd will take reasonable care to protect the customer’s property; however, the Company is not liable for:
- unavoidable damage during access to concealed pipework
- removal or reinstatement of tiles, flooring, boxing, or fixtures
- leaks or structural failures caused by aged or compromised systems
10.2. The Customer is responsible for any cosmetic restoration required after works are completed.

11. Waste Disposal
11.1. Waste removal is included only when specified in the quotation.
11.2. Disposal of old boilers, cylinders, or large appliances may incur an additional fee.

12. Force Majeure
The Essentials Group Ltd is not liable for delays or failure to perform resulting from events beyond its control, such as severe weather, supply shortages, illness, or equipment failure.

13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
